The Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth, Minnesota have two artistic river otters, one named Zhoosh, a 12-year old male and Anang, a 15-year old female.
These river otters cannot live in the wild and is cared for by staff at the aquarium. Staff specialist Tara Lieberg wanted to improve their development and created an art studio for them using non-toxic paint and paper. The two otters create the art by moving around and wagging their tails.
The 8×10 paintings retail for $35.00USD to $45.00USD, with the smallest paintings retailing for $5.00USD. The paintings are also framed and are very popular items at the gift shop. The prints are currently sold out on the Great Lakes Aquarium website.
