The Marvel Vault – A Visual History

marvelvaultupdatedI remember as a kid in the 1980s, you were either a Marvel Comics or DC Comics fan, there was no in-between.  I didn’t get serious into collecting comics until the late 1980s and early 1990s, when Marvel had an amazing staple of talents like Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Rob Liefield, Marc Silverstri, Whilce Portacio and Jae Lee, just to name a few.  Every week I had a stack of Marvel comic books and a issue was like .75 cents!  If you know you have a Marvel fan this Holiday season, then The Marvel Vault – A Visual History will make a great gift item.

What is an Ambigram? I would have to say its the art of font design and creative wordplay, where one word passes off as two at the same time… or maybe superimposition, where one thing is placed over an existing thing to conceal something?

Okay enough, just watch the video we shot at Silicon Valley Comic Con with Bryan Hopkins, lead singer of Elvis Monroe, who is the co-founder of Red Chapter Clothing with world famous Ambigram artist Mark Palmer. Creating the new “Marvel Comics” with Sana Amanat

sanaamanatLike most of my friends, I grew-up a Marvel Comics fan reading various X-Men titles and Ultimate Spider-Man.  Being a female myself, it’s awesome that these days, many power players in the comics industry are women that can create, write, draw or make decisions behind-the-scenes in this mostly male dominated industry.  The VOX Media interviews Marvel Comics’ Director of Content & Character Development Sana Amanat.
