This animated trailer looks intriguing. This takes place on the border town of San Simon, Mexico late 1970s. A Chinese immigrant Chiu Lee Man takes in 3 orphan kids who he mentors and trains in way of martial arts. When he is murdered, the 3 kids: Silencio, Isabela, and Jesus team up with a DEA Agent and Federale officer to seek revenge against the cartel.

Frankie’s Garage: A Chevy Corvette Turned into a Mach 5

The 1960s anime Speed Racer left an impression with this car fanatic and customizer Jerry Patrick. His dream was to build the Mach 5 car from the cartoon. What was once a 1994 Chevy Corvette has been chopped, sliced and converted into Speed Racer’s Mach 5. The car uses fiber class for the shape and look. The process takes about 3-5 months to build one.

The Art and Making of The Peanuts Movie

Two major comic strips that I grew up in my childhood was Bill Watterson’s Calvin & Hobbes and George M. Schulz’s iconic cartoon character Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. I remember having so much fun reading the strips as a kid with my siblings and then watching the Charlie Brown cartoon Holiday specials on TV with my grandparents. Just pure nostalgia. After years of waiting, we now finally get an “official Charlie Brown cartoon” from animation house Blue Sky Studios. Author Jerry Schmitz takes us Charlie Brown fans on an incredible journey inside Blue Sky Studios in The Art and Making of The Peanuts Movie.

In the age of digital downloads and streaming music, who goes to the record stores and buys the physical copy? Well, if you’re an old-school fanboy like me, this is one CD you should definitely buy, The Transformers: The Movie Original Motion Picture Score by Vince DiCola. Let’s not mistake these soundtrack CDs for the Michael Bay live-action crap, this is the 1986 animated Transformers flick. Yes, you should be aware The Transformers: The Movie CD which came out in 1986, but that CD featured all the pop songs like “The Touch” & “Dare” and only a couple of score tracks. This release features 25 tracks of music score from the movie.

Evolution Toy Mazinger aka Tranzor Z

If you’re an 1980s kid and remember another robot cartoon known as Tranzor Z, here’s an cool item from Evolution Toy. From their Metal Action line, this is the Brain Condor Great Mazinger. This is not the full robot, but this collectible toy focuses on the plane that docks onto Mazinger’s head.

Robotech 30th Anniversary SD Blind Box

The iconic 1980s cartoon Robotech celebrates 30-years in 2015 and Toynami in the upcoming weeks will drop a neat Robotech blind box set of vinyl figures. The mini-figures vary from 2-3 inches and features: Destroid Tomahawk, Hikaru Ichijo, Regult, VF-1A 1 and VF-1A 2. No word on any chase figures just yet.

Takara Masterpiece Ultra Magnus MP-22

One of the hottest toy releases this year is the Takara Masterpiece Ultra Magnus MP-22. The iconic G1 Ultra Magnus toy gets a fitting Masterpiece release and it will a very hot collector’s item. Not only does Autobot Commander resemble closely to the G1 cartoons, it features a detachable trailer and two figures: Spike and Daniel. The Masterpiece Ultra Magnus also includes 2 different hands, 2 missiles, face plate and “The Matrix” of leadership.

Gallery Nucleus: Heroes In A Half Shell Celebration

Way back in the 1980s when Mirage Comics published Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s creation The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, nobody had any idea how big these green turtles would get in pop-culture. From all the movies, cartoons, toy lines and other merchandising, the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are still here today kicking butt.

On July 12, 2014 in Alhambra, CA, Gallery Nucleus and Nickelodeon presented an “official” TMNT art exhibition for the 30th Anniversary. Over 30 artists were involved showcasing TMNT artwork. Also featured, were production stills, memorabilia, storyboards and many other neat things from Nick’ cartoon series. In collaboration with our LA outfit Project 760 Productions we give TMNT-fans a glimpse of what happened at the event.
