The Chibi-style has been a popular pop-toy creation with the kawaii big head and small proportion body. S2 Toys Studios aka Sam Cheng builds his own custom cute transformable Autobots called Chibi-Formers. He’s created an Optimus Prime, Jazz, Sideswipe and Grimlock figures.
I have bought a couple of Hasbro’s Transformers Combiner Wars toy line, well the ones I like so far and here’s one on my list, Combiner Wars Victorion. This is the first all-female robot combiner team features 6 figures: Voyager Class Pyra Magna, Deluxe Class Dust Up, Jumpstream, Skyburst, Stormclash, and Legends Class Rust Dust.
I am not a pin collecting fanatic, but I do have some pins from when I went to SF Giants baseball games and get them as giveaways. Pin collectors and Transformers fans come together with this BAIT collab. Limited to 500 pieces – this is a 2-piece pin set featuring the iconic Autobot and Decepticon logos.
This is the latest Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece release, the classic G1 Autobot doctor Ratchet. The action figure robot has the iconic G1-look and comes with a plethora of weapons and accessories.
For LEGO fans who can build cool stuff, like a detail car, action figure or robot might find it a little easy. Joe Perez aka MortalSwordsman not only built the iconic Decepticons Soundwave in robot mode, but also made it transformable into the classic cassette Walkman player with transformable cassette tapes Laserbeak, Ravage and Frenzy (headphones not included).
Buy it @ The Loyal Subjects – Double Agent Tee.
One of my favorite G1 Aubotcars was Tracks since it transform into a plane mode and fly. Now Takara has made a Transformers Masterpiece version and it looks sweet. Tracks in robot mode looks like his G1 cartoon days and transforms into the iconic 1970’s Chevy Corvette Stingray. Tracks can transform into his classic G1 flight-mode. The Masterpiece figure also comes with other extras, like a flight display stand, Raoul figure and Blaster in boombox mode.
This year Hasbro kicked-off it’s new theme for their Transformers toy line-up, calling it the Combiner Wars. It’s an homage to the G1 combiner toys and most fans have been waiting for Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Devastator. The 6 Constructicons: Scrapper, Hook, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, Mixmaster and Scavenger have all-new molds, but retain their G1-look. As the Constructicons combine into the Devastator, it now stands a behemoth 18-inches tall.
In the age of digital downloads and streaming music, who goes to the record stores and buys the physical copy? Well, if you’re an old-school fanboy like me, this is one CD you should definitely buy, The Transformers: The Movie Original Motion Picture Score by Vince DiCola. Let’s not mistake these soundtrack CDs for the Michael Bay live-action crap, this is the 1986 animated Transformers flick. Yes, you should be aware The Transformers: The Movie CD which came out in 1986, but that CD featured all the pop songs like “The Touch” & “Dare” and only a couple of score tracks. This release features 25 tracks of music score from the movie.
This is the latest Takara Transformers Masterpiece collector’s toy: MP-24 Starsaber. Starsaber is from the 1989 Japan only release Fight! Super Robot Life-Form Transformers: Victory series which featured 44 episodes.
Toy Fair 2015 kicked-off this past weekend in NYC, so if you’re wanting to know what neat toys will be hitting retail this year, then check these videos out! Sit back, relax and watch this Toy Fair 2015 Playlist:
With the G.I. Joe toy-line not making an appearance at this year’s Toy Fair, who knows what Hasbro is planning for this long toy franchise. Though they have announced they’ve hired a new Brand Manager Mark Weber for the G.I. Joe toy-line. Well, at least Hasbro got the Transformers toy-line correct and this year should be outstanding again. The theme for 2015 is Combiner Wars. Many of the first waves have hit retail brick and mortar stores now.
I remember buying The Loyal Subjects (TLS) x Transformers Wave 1 blindboxes, because I’m a sucker for anything G1 Transformers related. The vinyl figures were decent and it looked cute. Since the 2013 Wave 1 release, TLS have upped the ante with their Wave 2 release with more points of articulation, accessories, sounds and lights. Now with this Transformers Wave 3 released the vinyl figures move a little like action figures and have cooler signature weapons related to the character. Some figures have light up LEDs or sound effects.
The G1 minibot icon Bumblebee gets a Takara transformation in the Masterpiece line-up. Not only do you get the Masterpiece VW Bumblebee, you also get the adult Spike in his exo-suit from the 1986 animated flick “Transformers: The Movie.”
Get you credit cards ready for more Transformers toy fun. Take a hit video game console like the Sega MegaDrive aka Genesis and make it transform into Megatron. The MegaDrive Megatron should be dropping into stores this month.
Can I sell you a pen that cost over $50.00USD and holds not too much ink? Well, you will buy it if you’re a Transformers and G1 Optimus Prime fan. Produced by Sentinel Toys, this is Optimus Prime Convoy pen! In robot mode, the action figure looks close to the classic G1 cartoon series and has good articulation. After you’re finishing playing with it and you need to do some homework, you can transform it into a pen.
