Lost Planet: First Colony

lost planet coverWell, if you’ve been playing Capcom’s Lost Planet 3 on your PS3 or Xbox 360 and really want to figure out how this all happened on ED.N. III, you can now read this hardbound trade Lost Planet:  First Colony.  Humanity thought they found the hope for Earth on E.D.N. III, but the first colony was tragic failure unleashing an icy storm and bad-ass monsters.

LP 00Scripted by Izu and drawn by Massimo Dall’oglio, the First Colony story revolves around Captain June and her pirate crew on the vessel Crusader.  The Crusader crew looking to re-supply and hit payday when raiding a NEVEC (Neo Venus Construction) ship hit a snag by stealing useless data.  Donovan a hacker found information that NEVEC evacuated the planet and with the crew running out of supplies, Captain June decides to head to E.D.N. III.  As the ship lands onto the planet they hit a severe storm that causes the Crusader vessel to crash.  Now stranded on this strange planet, Captain June decides to head to the deserted NEVEC base for supplies and to fix her ship.  Not only do strange monsters pop up, June finds herself trying to figure what is going on E.D.N. III as she meets Corporal Jack Thorn, find colonist survivors still on the planet and NEVEC’s Professor Soichi.  The mystery soon unravels itself and the fight for survival is on leading to Capcom’s Lost Planet 3.

LP 01The First Colony prologue provides a backstory and set-up for Lost Planet 3 video game, but if you’re looking for something more on the Lost Planet universe, then you might have to wait for the next Capcom and Titan Comics collaboration.
