When you step into your comic book shop this week and your head is screaming for something different and politically incorrect, then try The Complete Accident Man by creators Pat Mills (Marvel’s 2099 series) and Tony Skinner (2000AD). This trade collects Accident Man’s run on Toxic! comics and his own Dark Horse mini-series, so now you can read everything in one sitting with some beer and chips.
James Bond he is not, he is Mike Fallon, a hitman with money on his mind, a man’s man, and totally not-PC. Mike’s special technique in his violent line of work is creating assassinations that look like “accidents”. When Mike finds out that his ex-wife Jill is murdered in her home and it had something to with her organization W.A.R.P. (Women Against the Rape of the Planet), he’s on a mission of revenge.
This is not a PG-superhero comic, but for dark satire comic-reading adults. Creators Pat Mills and Tony Skinner keep Accident Man at a insane and non-stop action pace. Each artist – Martin Emond, Duke Mighten and John Erasmus also keep-up with frenetic page panels and each artist bring their own unique art style. And I always enjoy Howard Chaykin’s cover art. And hey my favorite British TV guy Jonathan Ross likes Pat Mills work and so do I!
