If you’re in Taipei this August through September, stop by artist Martin Hsu’s exhibition “In Dreams” at the Wrong Gallery. “In Dreams” is Martin Hsu’s take on “Little Red Riding Hood” and bowl of noodles. The “In Dreams” exhibition runs from August 9th thru September 2nd, 2014.
Like the one in Brooklyn, New York, kicks-maker VANS will be opening a House of Vans in London on August 9th, 2014. Not only will there be an in-door skate park, but a venue for musicians and artists alike. So the next time you take the Tube in London, stop at Waterloo Station.
The 30,000 square feet palace will be hipster fresh. Tunnel One will feature an art gallery; Tunnel Two will have the VansLab artist studios and a 100 person capacity screening room; Tunnel Three will hold a music stage for around 850 concert-goers and of course, a bar; Tunnel Four will hold the in-door skate park and restaurant/cafe; and Tunnel Five will hold another in-door skate park.

One of the best pop-culture art galleries here in the States is Gallery 1988 located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, CA. Since 2007, Gallery 1988 has showcased their own annual “Crazy 4 Cult” series celebrating the magic of movies. With each year passing, the “Crazy 4 Cult” art show draws large crowds and stars in Hollywood looking to snap-up movie-inspired art pieces. Titan Books releases a new volume Crazy 4 Cult: Cult Movie Art 2 which collects various art pieces from the series.
If you are in the LA Alhambra area stop by Nucleus for a neat gallery opening by artist Junko Mizuno this Saturday. The event begins at 7:00pm and will showcase her take on the Grimm Brothers’ Hansel & Gretel. The Hansel & Gretel exhibit will run from August 18, 2012 through September 9, 2012. Also, there are art prints to purchase and prizes to be given – plus Junko will be there in-person for autographs.

In New York City this past Friday June 8, 2012, David Lowbrow Pilgrim and East End Studio paid tribute to the Beastie Boys with an art exhibit – “Intergalactic Planetary.” Over 30 local NYC artists contributed their Beastie Boys inspired art.
