SDCC 2017 TITANS Vinyl Figures!
DOCTOR WHO
First-to-the-Market at SDCC 2017 are two new 4.5” window-boxed Doctor Who TITANS vinyl collectibles: 4.5” “Pandorica Opens” TARDIS variant and 4.5” “Closing Time” 11th Doctor variant.
From the penultimate episode of series five The Pandorica Opens, this 4.5″ TARDIS is decorated in the style of Vincent van Gogh’s prophetic painting of the TARDIS’s fate.
This 11th Doctor 4.5″ window-boxed variant is styled after his brief foray as a toy department sales assistant from the series six episode Closing Time.
Both TITANS are 4.5” and both are individually window-boxed.

SEGA’s mascot Sonic gets the Kidrobot 3″ blind box figure treatment. Each of the Sonic characters is mounted on the iconic gold ring stand. There are 14 figures including the chase figures to collect.
The love of toy food art is here with Yummy World. There are 14 wacky food character designs to collect like Chezzy Pie and Flaco Taco. Fans who like the Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party flick will probably enjoy collecting these too!
The popular toy-art figures Be@rbricks are back with another series. Medicom Toys releases the Be@rbricks Series 32. The 3″ bear-like LEGO mini-figs feature 12 base designs and 10 “chase designs.” This year’s collection features company designs like the Suicide Squad, Terminator, One Punch Man and artists like Shoko Nakazawa and Fujio Akatsuka.

Just dropping into stores for 2016, is the Funko Mystery Minis: Batman Arkham Games series of 3″ vinyl figures. The set includes various Batman vinyl figures – Arkham Asylum Batman, Arkham City Batman, Arkham Knight Batman, Joker, Red Hood, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Robin, Nightwing, and Arkham Knight.
Our latest Vinyl Pulp episode 9 takes a look at “The 13” Dunny Series by artist Brandt Peters. Vinyl Pulp host “The Eddie” buys a case and has an ultimate box break himself, finding the 2 rare chase figures.
I stopped by my local comic shop and saw some Funko Mystery Minis Despicable Me blind boxes still on the rack, and I decided to buy a couple. This Despicable Me set of vinyl figures came out awhile back, but if you’re a fan of the animation, this is a great pickup for your collection.
The 2015 Funko DC Comics Mystery Minis are here! The 2.5″ vinyl figures feature popular heroes and villains from the DC Universe. The set of 17 vinyls include commons, rares and the 2 super chase items: The White Lantern Batman and White Lantern.
Somehow I found myself at the mall this past weekend and walked into a Hot Topic store and these 2015 Funko Frozen Mystery Minis caught my attention and credit cards. I bought a couple of blind boxes just to check it out.
If you’re a Sony PlayStation fan, a miniature model collector or blind box buyer, then you might want to grab this Takara PlayStation History Collection 20th Anniversary. Takara which has already done an NES and SEGA collection, so you know these will be popular.
The iconic 1980s cartoon Robotech celebrates 30-years in 2015 and Toynami in the upcoming weeks will drop a neat Robotech blind box set of vinyl figures. The mini-figures vary from 2-3 inches and features: Destroid Tomahawk, Hikaru Ichijo, Regult, VF-1A 1 and VF-1A 2. No word on any chase figures just yet.
The Loyal Subjects has been creating neat vinyl figures this past year, like the Transformers Wave 3 and their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Wave 1 series. I was able to buy a couple of blind boxes from these series, and what I like is unlike most 3″ to 5″ vinyl toys, The Loyal Subjects vinyl figures offer more points of articulation and accessories. Here’s another cool line if you’re a Mighty Morphin’ fan, the Power Rangers Wave 1.
If you weren’t satisfied with this year’s lame Bandai America’s Godzilla Destruction City playset, why not try ALGERNON Product Geocraper – Tokyo Scenery Vol. 1 series? Yupe, this toy line is called GEO-CRAPER, something got lost in translation here, but I digress. This is a great way to build a mini-toy diorama playset and putting your toy kaijus on display.
This past weekend Kidrobot released The Art of War dunny series. The toy design theme for each of the 14 artists involved was to design a dunny figure based on Sun Tzu’s warmongering strategy novel – The Art of War. Our Ramen & a Half hosts of Eddie Ballar and Ramon Angel stopped by Kidrobot SF for the artist signing and release event with Frank Kozik, DrilOne and Huck Gee. We grab a quick interview with each about their dunny figure in the series and their upcoming projects. We also go unboxing a case with fellow dunny collector/artist Big C.
