The Detroit Auto Show 2014 is a few days in and Kia known for practical and boring automobiles unveils their GT4 Stinger Concept. It will be a rear-drive platform at an entry-level price. I hope so. The PR reps from Toyota and Subaru say their rear-drive cars, the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, are entry-level, but when you walk out of the door at the dealerships, you are spending upwards of $28,000 or more for “entry-level.”
2014 automobile shows are already in full effect and this past weekend the Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 took place in Chiba, Japan. More than 400 foreign and domestic companies were on-hand and 800-plus cars were on showcase from car manufacturers and tuners.
With the 2014 Detroit Auto Show already off and running this week, Nissan unveiled their Nissan Sports Sedan Concept which might be the next Maxima. The last couple of generation of Maximas have been kinda of boring and tame. Hopefully, a Nismo tuned version will be down the line.

The 2013 Tokyo Motor Show recently took placed in Tokyo, Japan and Nissan unveiled a couple of street montsers. First, everybody thought Nissan was going to bring back the Silva (240) or a replacement model of the 370Z, but instead Nissan brought out 2 concepts. The Datsun 510 Bluebird is back with these two models: Nissan IDx Freeflow and the NISMO tuned IDx.
Xcar Films checks out the Euro-spec Vauxhall Astra VXR hot hatchback. Along with the race red color, the snazzy aero-kit and 20″ wheels, the turbo-4 generates 279 horses. This Astra VXR can really give the Ford Focus and Fiesta ST hatches a dogfight.
If you grew up in the 80’s in the States, you might remember the VW Scirocco. Currently in the US, we only get the Volkswagen Golf R, but not this Euro-spec Scirocco R. This little hot-hatch has a 2.0 Liter Turbo 4-Cyclinder generating 262 horses. This Ignition episode takes a look at the Euro-only 2013 Scirocco R.
