Another cool episode of Vinyl Pulp is out and this time we are at Kidrobot for the release of Junko Mizuno’s Violet Soda Lady 8″ figure. The Violet Soda Lady was released in 2012 for a 3″ Dunny series. Now, Kidrobot and artist Junko Mizuno go big with an 8″ Dunny Violet Soda Lady figure with some new accessories.

Our Ramen crew a couple of weeks back attended the Kidrobot SF store event – Hello Trikky! The Hello Trikky party featured over 25 artist tricking up a base Trikky vinyl art toy. We interview some of the artist involved and get their thoughts about their custom Trikky.
On a brezzy night in San Francisco’s Haight/Ashbury area, Kidrobot held a Artist Signing and Release Party for super talented artist Martin Hsu. A few weeks back, Martin released his latest vinyl artwork – “Blacky” – the dragon/dog 4″ figure. The figure is limited to 300 pieces worldwide, so you might want to pick it up, since it’s also sold at a reasonable price of around $25.00USD.
This past weekend Kidrobot released The Art of War dunny series. The toy design theme for each of the 14 artists involved was to design a dunny figure based on Sun Tzu’s warmongering strategy novel – The Art of War. Our Ramen & a Half hosts of Eddie Ballar and Ramon Angel stopped by Kidrobot SF for the artist signing and release event with Frank Kozik, DrilOne and Huck Gee. We grab a quick interview with each about their dunny figure in the series and their upcoming projects. We also go unboxing a case with fellow dunny collector/artist Big C.
I remember being blown away when I first read the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic books by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Yesterday night at Kidrobot SF we celebrated and participated in a fun Holiday Toy & Food Drive with artist JRYU and cosplayer Vampy Bit Me, but we also caught with CEO/Gamer/DJ Gootecks. Our Ramen host The Eddie chit-chatted away with Gootecks about Capcom Cup and Ultra Street Fighter IV
There always cool things happening in San Francisco’s Haight/Ashbury District and one neat event is the Kidrobot SF V.I.P. Party. Of course the Ramen crew was there to enjoy the festivities and our host Eddie also grabbed a sit-down interview with local Dunny artist Big C and as they talked about his charity Dunny fundraiser for Bad Rap and 2013 Designer-Con.
Dropping at Kidrobot stores now are these 6 custom Munny figures by custom toy artist J★RYU and super cosplayer VampyBitMe. These Munny figures stand 18″ tall and Halloween scary. These Munny figures are for the pricey toy collector since they are around $3,000.00USD each. Yikes.

On October 10, 2013 – Kidrobot launches Series 3 of Dunny Evolved 3″ vinyl toys. Each artist picked in this Dunny Evolved line-up created 3 dunny designs.
The Ramen crew visited Kidrobot SF for the release of the DamGun ‘Bots. If you’re a Gundam fan or just an anime mech-head, then you might like these ‘Bots. Kidrobot pays homage to these plastic snap-on model kits with their own DamGun ‘Bots.

I still remember that feeling of saving up all my quarters for the week and rushing to my local 7-Eleven store where they would have video game arcades like Space Harrier, Daytona USA, Thunder Blade, Operation Wolf, Afterburner and of course Capcom’s Street Fighter! Those were the days, but let’s move on … Kidrobot’s first Street Fighter 3″ vinyl figures were super popular and now it’s back with a Series II.
Today – August 29th, 2013 is the release of Kidrobot x Street Fighter Series 2 vinyl figures. Our Ramen team will be at the release party tonight @ the Kidrobot retail store in San Francisco’s Haight/Ashbury area.
Our Ramen team kicked it all day at the Kidrobot SF store in Haight-Ashbury as Kidrobot released their new 2013 Dunny series. The day was long and the lines were super long as Dunny fans eagerly await to buy blind boxes and cases hoping to chase their favorite artist created Dunny and the “black” limited Andrew Bell Dunny.
Kidrobot’s biggest product release of the year is their Dunny series and for 2013 select artist from around the world helped in creating this collectible toy vinyl set.
