The latest in popular T- Shirt designs, Design by Humans, is a collaboration of many designs influence by POP artists, musicians and the like… as we can already see the English virtual band album art of the Gorillaz.
NBC TV recently premiered their new super hero/sci-fi series Heroes Reborn and with the introduction of many new characters and typical large cast for a show like this, Titan Comics offers a new monthly Heroes comic book series where it will profile and highlight a character with a 5-part story arc. Heroes: Vengeance #1 finds Oscar Gutierrez as a ordinary mechanic by day and the vigilante El Vengador.
While a community of Twitchers have an open forum about the latest growing social development surrounding female gamers in their webnet interactions on Twitch, Sayori Chu interviews Cosplay/Gamer, Amie Lynn (a.k.a. MissHabit) and Lindsay Elyse, who are not cosplaying today?
Let the games begin at TwitchCon. Sayori Chu ventures to the first official Twitch Convention in San Francisco, where she finds out why the latest in gaming communication rules, and how the Twitch community is driving behind it! Here’s a RETRENDERS/RamenandaHalf promo of our TwtichCon experience.
So this past week I was browsing the ‘Play Store’ on my phone for something new to play. I needed something new to play that would keep me busy until Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection comes out next week. Enter PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist by Outerminds Inc. It is a cute little 8-bit platformer. The game is something like a Mario… or Adams Family for the SNES, except with a bit wonkier controls. You may find it a bit difficult to control your character while jumping in the air. The touch-screen is a little sensitive, or at least it was for me.
It’s a short game, something that you could probably beat in one day; if you play on easy mode that is. Now I’m not a big PewDiePie fan, I’ll admit that I have watched a good number of his videos, however in this game there seems to be references to his videos that only loyal fans will understand. Friends of his are also in this game as playable characters; if you’re not a fan of playing as PewDiePie, then maybe you’ll like playing as Markiplier… or how about CinnamonToastKen… or Cry? Personally, I played JackSepticEye all the way through the game once I unlocked him. Speaking of all these YouTubers, there is also voice acting in this game, which means you get to hear these YouTubers give out some cringe worthy performances.
I know it sounds like I am bashing the game, and that is not what I want to do. I actually really liked this game. It’s really really tough on the harder difficulties. I’ve only beat the first two levels on lvl. 2 difficulty; don’t judge. If you have $5 to spare, I would recommend this game, and you don’t even have to be a fan of Felix or his friends to enjoy this game. If you’re looking for a mobile game to pass the time, then this one is for you. So try it out, have fun, and go ahead and rage while you play it on the harder difficulties.
Even after lasting 7 season’s and 144 episodes on air, Joss Whedon’s cult hit TV show Buffy, The Vampire Slayer remains popular with fans today. Do you also want to be like Buffy? Do you want to be a Vampire Slayer? Well, now’s your chance, as Buffy’s mentor Rupert Giles offers up his book: Demons of the Hellmouth – A Guide for Slayers, basically a Who’s Who’s list and character guides of the many vampires, demons, and other players they’ve meet along the way in the TV show.
Hey Retrenders fans! If you missed Wizard World 2015 from San Jose a few weeks back and want to see all of our Ramen and a Half video coverage of the 3-day con, well, hit up our Wizard World SJ playlist on YouTube!
Farewell Wizard World – until next year! On behalf of the “Ramen and a Half”crew and RETRENDERS, we’d love to thank Abby Ferguson for making everything so convenient for us at Wizard World 2015 at the San Jose Convention Center!
Everyone has an opinion about certain Comic Conventions. Now, “Was Wizard World great or not great?” So we had to ask a couple of our local Comic Convention goers in the Bay Area, Diana and Alejandro. Though they mentioned nothing spectacular on a scale of one through ten, I would have to say they sounded pretty happy to be there, and they reinforced what comic conventions are all about: Attending a panel and learning interesting factors about writing comics from Michael Golden, Meeting friends, and best of all – Cosplaying! The video speaks for itself.
The only mishap at Wizard World was loosing a pair of Sunglasses while wrapping up the show – “No thanks to Ramon!”
Not exactly 3D, but imaginatively textured to give you that slice of pixel life! I know these are constructed pixel pieces, but it totally reminds me of when Han Solo gets carbon freezed into a slab and used as some sort of art piece in Jabba the Hutt’s palace. Click 2.5D Sprites to find out more about them.
At Wizard World, The Eddie has a brief interview with The Walking Dead‘s , Scott Wilson, who plays Hershel Greene, the much grounded and upholding character of humanity in an overwhelming time of dead chaos. He will also be starring in the upcoming television series DAMIEN, on A&E, a spin off from The OMEN.
The Eddie comes across 3-D Scanning to make a miniature figure of yourself! The company, Twindom, is freshly new and could have your figure delivered to you in two weeks. Beware, if you watch this video, you might get excited and just click Twindom to find the nearest Twindom 3D scanning facility near you to make that self-figure!
Sayori has been a longtime fan of the Green Ranger and was excited to interview Jason David Frank. . . And did I mention, she also loves watching a good MMA Fight. My only comment about Jason David Frank is, when he became the Green Ranger, he didn’t raise the bar, he knocked the bar out in what’s expected to be a true Power Ranger!
Ramon is a big on collecting action figures, so when he stumbled upon these welded and bronzed metal sculptures by Metal Souls , he couldn’t just pass through with out mentioning how amazingly cool they were!
Wizard World was full of surprises – just like how “The Eddie” was able to meet actor, Michael Rooker. Those of you that don’t know him as Yondu of Guardians of the Galaxy, will definitely remember as Merle Dixon from the Walking Dead series. He is well recognized as playing the bad guy that you hate and then love, as you can see in his character metamorphosis through the episodes in Walking Dead. And I’m pretty positive that he had fun playing Yondu, which I would have to say, “he has added so much character to the biggest scavenger-pirate of the galaxy!”
Our very own Harlequin, Sayori Chu, interviews Wind of the Stars cosplay, Mel Hoppe, at Wizard World Comic Convention on making costumes and making friends. Here we find out the topic on why do people cosplay is more than meets “living out a fantasy character”, because its also about clicking and bonding with others that love the same thing.
The Ramen and Half crew crashes Wizard World as their extended adventure to meet their pop culture icon celebrities and finding that must have comic and figure for their personal collections. Find out what they have to say before they hit the convention floor. This promo is also a sneak peak at what to expect in their upcoming Wizard World videos.
What a double dose of Vinyl Pulp! Yupe, we are still at Woot Bear for the “Vive La Lolligag! Vinyl Doll Release & Custom Group Show. We catch up with artist Daniel Fleres on his custom reinterpretation of the Lolligag doll and his upcoming vinyl toy project, the Swanicorn! It’s coming!
On brezzy Saturday night, August 28, 2015 in the Richmond District SF, Woot Bear Gallery held the “Vive La Lolligag!” event. Both an art show featuring a collection of contemporary artist reinterpreting the Lolligag vinyl doll and a final release edition of the Lolligag doll, the grape colorway Lolligag figure.
Our Vinyl Pulp team was there to recap the event and interviews with the creators and artists on hand.
This game has only been out for about three weeks, on Android, and it doesn’t seem that I’ll stop playing it anytime soon. When Bethesda announced this game back during E3, I was excited to play something new that was Fallout related; though I would have to wait two months to get my hands on the Android version, but it was worth the wait. Not a day has passed since I haven’t been on this game; leveling up their abilities or sending them out in the Wasteland.
The game is simple enough. You are the Overseer or your own Vault, sort of like the big boss, and your job is to build your Vault while making sure the people that live in your vault don’t die. You’ll have to build water treatment plants, diners and power plants to be able to keep your Vault up and running. While running your Vault, you’re also going to have to deal with fires breaking out, Radroach and Mole Rat infestations, Raider invasions, and the scariest of all… Deathclaw invasions. I’ve had two Deathclaw invasions in a row and let me tell you, it is the worst thing that can happen to you. Your power, water and food storage goes down quickly and they can (and will) kill your Vault dwellers so fast that you had better equip every dweller with good weapons to defend themselves.
I really don’t know how long this game lasts. Is it never ending? Will it game over once you reach your 1000th vault dweller? I’m not sure if I’ll ever find out that answer because once Fallout 4 comes out this November, like so many others, I will probably be playing this game a whole lot less. It’s a fun game. Even if you are not a fan of the Fallout series you can still have fun, trying to see how big you can make your Vault. Thank you Bethesda, for such a simple yet addictive and fun game; I can’t wait to see how your main title is going to turn out.
I give this mobile game an 8/10. So long from Vault 47.
One of the most popular video games of the year for 2015 is Batman: Arkham Knight and if you haven’t gotten around to playing the game just yet, why not read the official novelization by writer Marv Wolfman to get your Batman fix? Batman: Arkham Knight – the official novel follows the same story-line as the video game with some extra background information and spicy tidbits for DC/Batman comic book lore.
It’s been a year since the Joker has died and a relative calm has presided over Gotham City, but all that is about to change as the Scarecrow unleashes a new fear toxin in a diner, causing everybody to kill each other. The Scarecrow gives an ultimatum to the citizens of Gotham that he will unleash the fear toxin all over Gotham City in a few hours. Now it’s up to Batman and his team to stop Scarecrow’s plan, while all this is happening a new player gets involved. Like in the DC Universe and Jim Lee’s Batman run “Hush” story-line, this new protagonist, the Arkham Knight knows Batman and his allies inside and out. In this fight against Scarecrow, we find that Batman has been exposed to Joker’s “blood” and as he carries on the fight to save Gotham City and his friends, Batman will be tested mentally and physically.
Vinyl Pulp host “The Eddie” does a quick review of the SDCC 2015 Exclusive Street Fighter Dark Sakura figure. He gives his pros and cons of this BAIT Dark Sakura release.
Another cool episode of Vinyl Pulp is out and this time we are at Kidrobot for the release of Junko Mizuno’s Violet Soda Lady 8″ figure. The Violet Soda Lady was released in 2012 for a 3″ Dunny series. Now, Kidrobot and artist Junko Mizuno go big with an 8″ Dunny Violet Soda Lady figure with some new accessories.
