Lately Hot Wheels has been putting really cool JDM cars from the past and present at retail shelves. As you can see from my picture, I’ve been collecting tons of Hot Wheels JDM-type cars. Hot Wheels Car Designer Jun Imai talks his love for classic Nissan cars and creating the 1/64 diecast scale Nissan Fairlady 2000 for Hot Wheels.
Hot Wheels is well known for some of their crazy and wacky car designs. With the life-size build of the Star Wars X-Wing Carship, Hot Wheels also announced the 1/64 scale diecast model for their toy lineup.
I have around 300-400 diecast cars in my collection. Its a mix of Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Tomica diecasts, but this guy takes the cake. Toy car collector Bruce Pascal’s Hot Wheels collection is valued at over a $1 million dollars. This guy is hardcore with a Hot Wheels inspired room to put his over 3,500 plus Hot Wheels toys. Bruce also has 175 special Hot Wheels prototypes.
Just dropping into retail in Asia is Takara/Tomy have added more figures to their Metalkore Marvel line-up. Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor and the Hulk join in on the action. The figures have very limited articulation, just the arms move, but if you like a mix of plastic, diecast and for display, these figures are a nice pick-up.
If the Hasbro Star Wars 3.75″ action figures don’t strike your fancy, then you might want to take look at this Takara Tomy Metalkore Star Wars 3″ action figure line-up. The is product line was released in Japan 2015 and the figures is a mix of die-cast and PVC with limited articulation.
I’ve been a fan Tomica’s recent product line: Tomica Premium 1/64 scale die-cast cars. Aimed at the adult collector, the Tomica Premium series features more paint applications and newly designed rims. Tomica is adding 4 new vehicles: No. 13 – Nissan IDS Concept, No. 14 – Toyota S-FR, No. 15 – Subaru 22B STI and No. 16 – Toyota 86GRMN.
From upcoming DC blockbuster Batman V Superman flick, here’s Jada Toys super cute big head figure, this is the Jada Toys: Metals Die Cast Armored Batman (M11). The figure is wholly diecast standing 6″ tall with included battery for the light-up LED eyes and detachable Bat-armor.
This new Tomica 1/64 diecast car line is shooting for the adult toy colltector. The Tomica Premium line kicks-off the series with the iconic NISMO R34 Z-Tuned sports car.
Yes, I admit, one of my guilty pleasures is watching the Fast & Furious franchise movies. The Fast & Furious have licensed many diecast approved collectible cars over the years, but this 1:43 scale diecast collection from GreenLight Collectibles is pretty sweet. I just picked-up several of these cars at Toys’R’Us.
I’m looking forward to AUTOart’s re-release of the iconic Toyota Trueno AE86 from the popular anime/manga “Initial D” by Shuichi Shigeno. If you’re a diecast car collector then you should also know the name AUTOart. This incredible HK toy company makes super detailed diecast cars, and this 1:18 scale “Fujiwara Tofu Ten” AE86 looks amazing.

Who is the scumbag that did this? It’s messed up.
The team at Retrenders was happily strolling down the Target toy aisle and spotted this odd looking item. This is clearly not a Pontiac Firebird! The person who returned this item must have bought it and took the original Hot Wheels out and replaced it with a cheap look alike die-cast car. Look at what you buy.
Thought this might interest all the Hot Wheels enthusiasts out there – this is 2000 feet of Hot Wheels track running through rooms, on the sidewalk, over a hot tub, and up some stairs.
