Their new drinking hangout is Deadbeat, a cozy jazz bar that Tom bought a few years back after retiring from the theatre business. Some novellas may want you drinking a nicely brew coffee or tea with biscuits, but for this Guy Adam’s pulp fiction novel, you may just want to grab some beer and chips and enjoy the rollicking adventure.
Award-winning author Kim Newman’s Jago was published back in 1991, and now Titan Books has just re-release this classic horror story. A hippie music festival takes place in the small English town of Adler. Like any big rock music festival it divides the town into two camps, those who want the money it brings in and those who hate it, because of all the property damage and troubles it causes lead by Adler villager Danny Keough. Many young people like Dolar and his caravan of friends attend the festival to party. On vacation in the town of Adler, Paul is working on his “end of the world” thesis, while his girlfriend Hazel a potter, runs a pottery shop for a family on vacation. And we find out that this rock festival is run by a religious cult the Agapemone and from within, Susan a British Secret Service agent is trying to find out who is the mysterious figure – Anthony William Jago. As the music festival begins, urban legends, darkness, and evil is unleashed on the town of Alder.

Pop artist Olly Moss posted a bunch of concept art, sketches, rough drafts and doodles on projects that never really went anywhere for 2012 on his blog site. But, hey, it’s Olly Moss art and I think the art posters and sketches look cool.
The staff here at Retrenders has brought you other umbrella art pieces in the past – maybe its a trend. Seriously though, artist Luke Jerram said it best in describing his recent outdoor art installation Just Sometimes, “It’s ok to create something that is simply beautiful that makes the public smile.” Honestly, I really wouldn’t mind walking by this to work everyday. A few months ago, we here at Retrenders showcased the purses that were designed by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama (https://retrenders.com/2012/06/11/louis-vuitton-x-yayoi-kusama/) in collaborating with Louis Vuitton. Kusama’s bio is as interesting as her body of work and that’s exactly what fascinated Marc Jacob at Louis Vuitton. Recently in London, Selfridges, a high end department store in the UK, launched a window display designed by Kusama in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. It is nothing but spectacular and is a total treat for the eye.

I just can’t wait until Muji opens up in SF so I’ve been busy getting familiar with their product line. Once they open their door, I will be so there with my wallet in hand.
Gruesome murders have been found around the city of London. Sherlock Holmes’ brother Mycroft, a government agent, tells him of the grizzly findings and a scientist named Dr. Moreau that might be behind this. This time, Sherlock and Dr. Watson will be off on a Resident Evil-style horror/adventure as they face a mad scientist creating half animal and half human species.
