I haven’t been to Universal Studios Hollywood in many years and this was the year, because The Wizarding World of Harry Potter just opened. So, this epic family trip to Disneyland, included a day at Universal Studios. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter may not be as grand and big as Universal Studios Orlando, but if you live on the West Coast, the cheaper alternative is going to Universal Studios Hollywood.
Fans of Harry Potter will enjoy everything about the theme town like the unique shops and waiting in line to get your magic wand. Forgo the kiddie mini-Harry Potter roller coaster and just head straight to Hogwarts castle. The Harry Potter and Forbidden Journey ride is one the best 3D rides, like ever. Take the journey with the young Harry, Hermione and Ron.

I remember the many family trips, then trips with the cousins, going with college friends and then going as an adult over the years – Disneyland meant something special to me. It is time for me to upgrade my “cosplay” Halloween Iron Man costume. As you can see from the picture above – that Iron Man helmet barely fit me and yes it’s for kids, but I made it work using red duck tape to help expand the helmet because my head is too big.
Now Marvel will be producing “adult” role play gear. This new Iron Man helmet is badass. This is great for people who want to cosplay but don’t have time to make their own Iron Man helmet. This is the Marvel Legends Series: Iron Man Electronic Helmet with LED light eyes and sound effects.

I recently watched Guy Ritchie’s “The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)” on rental. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. And by coincidence my next book review takes place around this post-WWII/Cold War era, it’s “The Age of Treachery” by author Gavin Scott.
World War II has just ended and like many soldiers returning home to England, Duncan Forrester is trying to adjust into normal civilian life. The ex-Special Operations Executive agent, Duncan is back at Oxford College as a archaeology researcher. A fellow colleague David Lyall is murdered on campus and everything points to Duncan’s best friend Gordon Clark. Duncan Forrester begins his own investigation.
