On brezzy Saturday night, August 28, 2015 in the Richmond District SF, Woot Bear Gallery held the “Vive La Lolligag!” event. Both an art show featuring a collection of contemporary artist reinterpreting the Lolligag vinyl doll and a final release edition of the Lolligag doll, the grape colorway Lolligag figure.
Our Vinyl Pulp team was there to recap the event and interviews with the creators and artists on hand.

Capcom is back again with another collab with Kidrobot. This time, the video game franchise Mega Man gets “Kidrobot-ified.” with a 3″ Dunny line and keychain line-up.
The Mega Man 3″ vinyl series features 13 figures to collect and 1 chase figure. A case will have around 20 blind boxes and probably cost around $230USD and each blind box is priced at $11.99USD.

Another cool episode of Vinyl Pulp is out and this time we are at Kidrobot for the release of Junko Mizuno’s Violet Soda Lady 8″ figure. The Violet Soda Lady was released in 2012 for a 3″ Dunny series. Now, Kidrobot and artist Junko Mizuno go big with an 8″ Dunny Violet Soda Lady figure with some new accessories.
Adult collectors familiar with the 1970s/80s era Jumbo Machinder toys and, of course Star Wars get a East meets West collaboration thanks to Super7 and Funko. This is the Super Shogun Boba Fett – Empire Version. First off, the box packaging looks awesome with the Japanese kanji and logos. The figure stands 24″ tall with rotating wheels on the feet, spring-loaded firing rocket from jetpack and wrist.
If collecting the Funko/Super 7 ReAction retro-sytle 3.75″ action figure line isn’t your thing, then try Funko’s Legacy line of 6″ figures that has more points articulation, details and accessories. Funko’s Legacy over the past years have featured Magic The Gathering and Game of Thrones action figures, now the Legacy line-up expands to Joss Whedon’s Firefly series, The Rocketeer, The Book of Life and Fantastic Mr. Fox action figures.
If you’re fan of Disney cartoon series Miles from Tomorrowland, then you might want to pick-up this nifty spacecraft/playset featuring lights, sounds, and 3 separate spacecraft that can combine into one bigger craft. The Stellosphere does require 6 AAA batteries that are not included.
This year Hasbro kicked-off it’s new theme for their Transformers toy line-up, calling it the Combiner Wars. It’s an homage to the G1 combiner toys and most fans have been waiting for Transformers Generations Combiner Wars Devastator. The 6 Constructicons: Scrapper, Hook, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, Mixmaster and Scavenger have all-new molds, but retain their G1-look. As the Constructicons combine into the Devastator, it now stands a behemoth 18-inches tall.

If you’re on a LEGO budget like me, then I find myself liking this LEGO DC Comics The Batboat Harbor Pursuit 76034. Recently I wanted to get some type of LEGO Age of Ultron product, so I settled for The Hulk Buster Smash 76031, which to me had all the mini-figs I wanted. The Batboat is an okay build, but I like 3 minifigs in this set: Batman, Robin and Deathstroke.
Like my fellow Retrenders super blogger Stevie Jang, we like LEGOs, but we usually follow the instructions. Yes, I like having a the manual in-hand and looking at the pictures to see how it’s been built. I’ve seen lots crazy imaginative LEGO builds, but this MOC Ito Sushi Bar LEGO build is insanely neat. Built by Denil Oh, this sushi bar has incredible details and even right down to the sushi pieces with custom stickers to enhance the diorama restaurant build.
If you’re into collecting vinyl big head figures, here’s another set from Hot Toys from the Cosbaby line to watch for. This is the Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Series 2 Collectible Set. The set features Tony Stark Mark XLIII Armor Version, Ultron Mark I, Iron Man XLV, War Machine Mark II, Ultron Prime, Vision and Black Widow.
Wow, this will be a busy multiplex weekend for me as I hang girlfriends to watch Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck and then with my Marvel fan-girls to catch Ant-Man, which brings me to this cute Hot Toys vinyl toy set, the Ant-Man Cosbaby Set of 3. The set features Ant-Man, Yellowjacket and Ant-Man Black Out Version.
Guardians of the Galaxy fans of all ages will enjoy this cute play item as the Guardians characters get the full Matryoshka Doll treatment aka Russian Nesting Doll.
It’s about time “The Legend of Korra” gets some collectible merchandise. Zwyer Industries kicks-off “The Legend of Korra” PVC statue collection with the Chief of Police of Republic City, Lin Beifong. The detailed painted statue stands 11″ tall with base. Look for the Lin Beifong statue to drop around August 2015.

Yeah, I admit I bought into the hype when TRON: Legacy came out in 2010. I bought the amazing Daft Punk soundtrack and then a bunch of the Hasbro approved action figures which sucked and the cheap vehicles. What I should have done was build my own TRON toys like this guy – Tim Schwalfenberg. Tim builds an amazing TRON-like environment and playset.
This ain’t no lame Waterworld LEGO brick playset. This is kind of like that Japanese anime “Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet” collection of city/ships, but cooler and techy. I’m a big fan of LEGO builders building new sci-fi worlds and landscapes like this. This is Cienasis 5 by LEGO fan Daniel Church.
Many Marvel characters have been “potatofied,” now comes the Ant-Man Mr. Potato Head from PPW Toys. This will make a great stress reliever toy on my workstation. The figure stands 6″ tall and comes with removable accessories to mix or match.
One of the most popular characters in the Star Wars universe is the bounty hunter Boba Fett. This exclusive Disney Store Boba Fett action figure stands 13.5″ tall with light-up blaster and sounds. The action figure has several points of articulation and the chest-activated button features 15 Boba Fett phrases.
Like many of my Retrenders crew, we are big fans of Joss Whedon’s Firefly. I fell in love with characters, the universe and the world building. I have the special edition DVD’s, the Dark Horse Comics editions and the Funko/Super7 action figures. And now from USAopoly based on the Yahtzee game, comes the Firefly version.
One of the biggest live music events on this planet is the Glastonbury Music Festival in Britain. Now Legoland Windsor Resort taps it’s LEGO model makers to build a big diorama of the Glastonbury music festival. Over 2 months of work and over 15,000 LEGO bricks were used. The Glastonbury LEGO scene will be on display until this November 2015.
