This beautiful and colorful dress is crazy – 50,000 gummy bears used and the gown weighs in at 220 pounds. The dress was designed by Editor-In-Chief Hissa Igarashi and Fashion Editor Sayuri Marakumi for the debut of TWELV fashion magazine and the gown was inspired by fashion designer Alexander McQueen. The original gown was in McQueen’s 2008 Spring/Summer Collection.

In the 1940s, there was another big comic book publisher, Harvey Comics, and one of it’s better known characters is Casper the Friendly Ghost. Harvey Comics has been defunct since 1994, but it’s back in this collab with apparel company Mishka NYC.

This line of clothing will only continue to grow as more city dwellers try to move closer to more greener alternative forms of transportation. I have always loved biking, however, most functional bike clothes have always made me look like I am ready for the Tour De France and I feel very self-conscious and uncomfortable once I separate myself from my bike.

Design Nation allows the designers to travel to whichever city they please to draw inspiration for their capsule collection. The collection will reflect both the designer and the city. Narciso Rodriguez chose Instanbul for his muse and he explored the city for four days.

Yayoi Kusama might not be a common household name to us here in the US but she is a very influential artist. She has worked in a wide variety of mediums, including painting and sculpture, most of which exhibit her thematic interest in psychedelic colors. She has also inspired Andy Warhol and many other modern artists. Louis Vuitton is working with her on a line of bags that’s coming out this October 2012.
