Now comes the latest collab with iconic fashion designer and founder of BAPE – NIGO. This Originals x Nigo collection will feature not just an apparel line, but also a line-up of cool sneakers. This collection will drop October 24, 2014.
If you’re like me stuck at work and can’t go to the very first Hello Kitty Con 2014 in LA next week, you can celebrate it with a Target run. Target will also be celebrating Sanrio’s iconic character Hello Kitty with their own birthday bash of products. Iconic street brand LRG teams up with local San Francisco outfit TRUE to open up a special pop-up brick & mortar store for a month, starting this Saturday October 18, 2014 through November 15, 2014. The pop-up shop will be located on 1429 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA and LRG has lined-up special events like clothing exclusives and guest signings.
On a brezzy night in San Francisco’s Haight/Ashbury area, Kidrobot held a Artist Signing and Release Party for super talented artist Martin Hsu. A few weeks back, Martin released his latest vinyl artwork – “Blacky” – the dragon/dog 4″ figure. The figure is limited to 300 pieces worldwide, so you might want to pick it up, since it’s also sold at a reasonable price of around $25.00USD.
If there’s a mention of Ridley Scott’s iconic film “Bladerunner” anywhere, I’m usually there in a heartbeat. The early concept art and ideas of Bladerunner began with this man – Jim Burns. The British award winning artist has the distinction of winning 3 Hugo awards and creating science fiction book covers for authors like George RR Martin, Peter F Hamilton and Anne McCaffrey.
If you ever watch the animated movies like The Ant Bully (2006) or Escape From Planet Earth (2013), one of the concept artist behind it was Greg Spalenka. Just like sneakerheads who painstakingly collect kicks, photographer Eilon Paz side hobby is collecting vinyl records. Then he had a idea of globetrotting around the world to find vinyl collectors and to tell their story. Dust & Grooves is a coffee-table book that collects 416-pages of full frame photos, over 130 interviews with record collectors, 12 full interviews, and a foreward by RZA.
