So this May, OPI will be launching their “The Amazing Spider-Man Collection.” I’m still digesting this because on the inside I’m honestly still a bit confused about this collaboration. I can just imagine some Hollywood executive waking up one morning and asked himself what would be a probable movie tie-in that would help make it rain. Spider-Man toys in a fast food chain’s kid’s meal I get, but NAIL POLISH?
Strange Collaborations: OPI x The Amazing Spider-Man
Paper Plane World Record!
The things you find on YouTube. It never ceases to amaze, but there is an actual paper flying contest. Remember as a kid, you’re bored out of your mind in class and you start making paper airplanes? Your friends and then the whole class starts throwing paper airplanes all over the classroom. The teacher then takes you to the principal’s office. But this former college QB Joe Ayoob makes one fly to a Guinness world record – 226 feet and 10 inches! That paper plane got some air time!
Super Cool Mom Award: Home Built F1 Model for Her Son
This 4 year old boy sure is happy!! Thumbs up Mom!!
From Japan comes a super cute story and a labor of love project – a mom decided on building her son a cool cardboard Formula 1 replica. As you can possibly tell, mom is a big fan of F1 racing and a fan of Sebastian Vettels’ Red Bull F1 RB8. She studied pictures and videos and added little details like wings and even the correct stickers and logos. Amazing. The cardboard replica even folds up!
Etsy Finds: Peanut Pocket Knife Necklace
I don’t know about you gals (and guys) but even after hundreds of late night public transit rides, solitary walks home in click-clacking heels into the wee hours of the morning, I get a little anxious about my surroundings. More often than not my hands are fisted around the keys in my jacket pocket.
Here’s an item that may make you feel a little safer.
This cute necklace inconspicuously hides a mini pocket knife within a peanut pendant.
The perfect gift for yourself or for other late night travelers.
Frankie’s Garage: What’s Wrong with This Picture?
The team at Retrenders was happily strolling down the Target toy aisle and spotted this odd looking item. This is clearly not a Pontiac Firebird! The person who returned this item must have bought it and took the original Hot Wheels out and replaced it with a cheap look alike die-cast car. Look at what you buy.
Great Scott!
First, Nike with the Nike Air MAG Mcfly in 2011.

Now, Mattel announced they are making a replica of the hover board from BTTF2 an BTTF3.
3D Replicator Printer for Consumers
A small shop in Brooklyn – MakerBot Industries will be selling 3D printers to consumers at the $1,795USD price point and up. In the past the 3D printers were very expensive.
The base model is the Replicator. With the 3D printer you can finally make your own custom toys and even household items. So no more last minute runs to Home Depot, just use the Replicator. It is also open source – you can go to a custom website, like Thingiverse.com, to see DIY tips, advice, and how other users use the 3D replicator unit. It’s really cool. I guess I can now make some custom G.I. Joe vehicles.
