On this episode of Vinyl Pulp we visit Woot Bear SF where they join forces with Boundless Brooklyn and Outre for the Art on Guard: Lifeguard Tower Art Show. This show featured over 40 different artists and their custom lifeguard towers. Vinyl Pulp also interviews the man behind Outre apparel brand.
Two words: Just Wow! LEGO builder David Collins had a dream to build a cool LEGO spaceship and he’s finally done it with his AZR Anunnaki. The battleship is around 6 ft long, 28 inches high, 15.5 inches wide and features a hangar bay with 3 mecha-pods. The build took over 250-plus hours and use of over 30,000 LEGO bricks.
NYC-based Boundless Brooklyn known for it’s cardboard DIY lifeguard towers, water towers and billboard sign kits has teamed up with SoCal apparel brand Outre for the Art on Guard exhibit. The event held at toy art shop/gallery Woot Bear in SF had over 40-plus artists customizing their own Lifeguard Towers.
Baywatch with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson … well not really. If you’ve been to the beach for a swim, you usually see a lifeguard tower, well this gallery event is Art on Guard, a show of artists building miniature scale Lifeguard Towers. This will be the first show of its kind on the West Coast and it will be held tonight at Woot Bear in San Francisco, CA. Even though I have a pretrend “memory lost” of the Star Wars prequels, I did geek out when in Attack of the Clones (2002), Yoda had his CGI light saber battle. So from the Disney Store, I ordered my very own Yoda Wind-Up Flipping Toy just for my little workstation. Just wind it up and watch the 3″ Yoda figure flip around.

One of the most iconic planet destroyer from the Star Wars franchise was the mighty Death Star. This Death Star is supposed to carry weapons of mass destruction, but instead gets a beauty salon, candy store, pet store and more. Many custom LEGO builders are now getting on-board and building customs from the LEGO Friends product line. I like the size of the LEGO Friends mini-figures and now custom builders like 3D Foundry has built custom mecha-suits for the Friends mini-figures.
Of course as everybody knows, yesterday was Star Wars Day and WIRED magazine celebrated by spending $800 bucks in building a LEGO Super Star Destroyer ship and then dropping it. Just like a little kid, sometimes it’s fun watching a big grandiose LEGO being smashed into pieces.

Kids Logic is back with more cute-like bobble-head type figures, this time is the Kid Nations Plugy Series 005 Avengers: Age of Ultron. You can only buy this a 5-set package which features: Captain America, Thor, Iron Man MK43, Iron Legion and Hulk Buster. The figures mearsures 3.5-4″ tall, comes with a headphone strap and keychain strap and LED lights on certain figures.
I remember seeing my first PLAYMOBIL toys on the Toys’R’Us shelves as a kid and always been a big fan of these toys. Now comes a more “real world” vehicle, the PLAYMOBIL 3911 Porshce 911 Carrera S and PLAYMOBIL 5991 Porsche 911 Targa 4S.
LEGO’s Star Wars product-line has been very successful over the years and now they celebrate it with their own LEGO-style inspired movie posters.
I bought a Mad Panda! Welcome to the Woot Bear showcase: Toys Things & Art Exhibit from Japan. Woot Bear collabs with some of Tokyo’s top toy vinyl artists like Dehara Yukinori, Hariken, Konatsu, Mai Nagamoto, Mographixx, Refreshment Toy and Studio Uamou for this exhibit running through May 10, 2015.

One of the new animated shows on Disney Junior is Miles from Tomorrowland and stars the Callisto family who live on the spaceship Stellosphere and work for the TTA (Tomorrowland Transit Authority).
