Starting this April, Vera Wang’s empire is going to get a bit bigger. Alongside clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories, and home goods, the Simply Vera line at Kohl’s will include makeup. The designer is pairing up with the Estée Lauder-owned BeautyBank — which also owns brands like Flirt!, Good Skin, and American Beauty — to launch a 74-piece color cosmetics collection.

Alongside the Orla Kiely x Uniqlo collab, the newest Rory Beca capsule collection for Forever 21 also hits a sweet spot in terms of its affordability. Prices start at $15.80 and ends at $24.80. How great is that? The dresses and tops are feminine and airy with beautiful colors and prints that are perfect for Spring and Summer. I’m totally crushing on anything with both the floating feather print and the watercolor print. The high-low maxi dresses are also rather beautiful.

So this May, OPI will be launching their “The Amazing Spider-Man Collection.” I’m still digesting this because on the inside I’m honestly still a bit confused about this collaboration. I can just imagine some Hollywood executive waking up one morning and asked himself what would be a probable movie tie-in that would help make it rain. Spider-Man toys in a fast food chain’s kid’s meal I get, but NAIL POLISH?

Sasa is pretty much an Asian Sephora that offers everything from low-end to high-end brands. In terms of presence and popularity Sasa is akin to Starbucks as it is literally on every block in Hong Kong.
Sasa is one of my favorite places to buy Asian cosmetics and I’ve been buying from them for years.
If you’re like me and have been pretty unimpressed by the quality of BB Creams by Clinique, Garnier, and other Western brands in general, check Sasa for a bevy of Korean BB Creams that started the craze in the first place! Japanese BB Creams are also highly recommended!

Reality-TV star Lauren Conrad’s LC Spring 2012 collection for Kohl’s looks breezy and fun. I really like the pastel style colors and clean lines. I also like how all the pieces in the collection go together. This is a well thought out collection.
Kohl’s? Yes, I admit I shop at Kohl’s. If you are on a budget and you don’t want to go to Ross, Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack and drive 50 miles to the outlet stores – might I suggest Kohl’s? You can find some great items for Spring & Summer.

The things you find on YouTube. It never ceases to amaze, but there is an actual paper flying contest. Remember as a kid, you’re bored out of your mind in class and you start making paper airplanes? Your friends and then the whole class starts throwing paper airplanes all over the classroom. The teacher then takes you to the principal’s office. But this former college QB Joe Ayoob makes one fly to a Guinness world record – 226 feet and 10 inches! That paper plane got some air time!

The “Down Under” has imported great musical pop groups and singers like INXS and Kylie Minogue to the US. One pop act that has not crossed over just yet, these twin sisters hailing from Brisbane – Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, make up the pop rock group The Veronicas.
In 2005 – The Veronicas released their debut album – “The Secret Life of …”. The LP won me over with a great mix of pop rock beats, up-tempo rifts, and a mixture of pop ballads. In 2007, the second album was released – Hook Me Up. For me it wasn’t a great album, even though they had 4 top ten singles on the Aussie charts. I think they fell in love with the drum machines and that off-putting electro-pop genre.

From Japan comes a super cute story and a labor of love project – a mom decided on building her son a cool cardboard Formula 1 replica. As you can possibly tell, mom is a big fan of F1 racing and a fan of Sebastian Vettels’ Red Bull F1 RB8. She studied pictures and videos and added little details like wings and even the correct stickers and logos. Amazing. The cardboard replica even folds up!

The team at Retrenders was happily strolling down the Target toy aisle and spotted this odd looking item. This is clearly not a Pontiac Firebird! The person who returned this item must have bought it and took the original Hot Wheels out and replaced it with a cheap look alike die-cast car. Look at what you buy.
