When I was a wee young lad, one of the very first FPS I played was the game DOOM. It’s been 20 years since Doom premiered, and here’s a LEGO tribute to this iconic game.

Another great Munchies episode about draft beer culture in Japan. You may have generalize beer in Japan as just Sapparo, Asahi and Kirin, but it’s more than that as host Yuka Uchida explores the neat beer trends in Japan.
It’s always a fun night with people in the restaurant business, this episode of Munchies goes to Berlin to check out their foody scene with guide and chef Dong Phuong. Chef Phuong is owner of District Mot, a Vietnamese street food restaurant.
If you weren’t satisfied with this year’s lame Bandai America’s Godzilla Destruction City playset, why not try ALGERNON Product Geocraper – Tokyo Scenery Vol. 1 series? Yupe, this toy line is called GEO-CRAPER, something got lost in translation here, but I digress. This is a great way to build a mini-toy diorama playset and putting your toy kaijus on display.
This is a definite must-buy for G1 Transformers fans – the Masterpiece MP-20 Wheeljack. Like all of the Masterpiece series the robot modes and articulation is great, but this car mode looks sweet as Wheeljack is based on the Lancia Stratos Turbo 5 rally car.
Okay, I’m getting really hungry now watching all these food shows on the Reserve and Munchies channel! Located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NYC, the El Olomega food truck cooks and sells the ultimate yummy Pupusas. Siblings Janet and Marcos Lainez have been dishing this El Salvadorian street food for over 25 years.
Burger King Japan re-introduces the “Black Burger” which features bamboo charcoal powder to get the dark color buns and cheese. The sauce is made of BBQ sauce and squid ink.
Cute and humorous is this animated short – Cap’n Shmelly and the Sperm Whale. From Omens Studios, Cap’n Shmelly is hunting down his nemesis the big whale that took his leg.
Like many major car manufacturers who have their own in-house racing/tuning programs like AMG, the M Division, SVT, SRT, TRD, just to name a few, Nissan’s NISMO (Nissan Motorsports) celebrates 30 years. This video by Nissan highlights NISMO – the past 30 years of amazing wins on the track and street legal tuned cars.
Music and streetwear usually go hand-in-hand and this cool collab by Black Scale is with Motown Records. The iconic Hitsville label gets a nice mini-capsule collection. The Black Scale x Motown Records Lookbook 1 just dropped this week at the flagship Black Scale NYC store. Look for the Black Scale x Motown Records Lookbook II this October 2014.
Macross (Robotech) fans will enjoy this cool SDF1 toy from Master Made. The SDF1 Makuros gets the cute super big head treatment. The Makuros is also transformable and has articulation. It comes with a neat base stand and two Veritechs with stands.
I’ve been digging this track for about a week now by the one-person band Kawehi. This is “Anthem” the new single from her EP Robot Heart.
I get hungry just watching this. Team Coco gets to eat new foody fad – the Ramen Burger by Chef Keizo Shimamoto. Chef Shimamoto created his own style of ramen noodles to go with a beef patty.

As a kid growing up in the 1980s and watching lots of cartoons on the tube after school, the animated cartoon Voltron has a special place in my heart. Just dropped is the coolest of cool collabs – Illest x Voltron. This mini-capsule collection features kids tees, adult tees, keychains, stickers. and 1 lanyard.
It’s pretty incredible what you can do with a smartphone these days. You can play Candy Crush, try date somebody on Tinder, or do something creative like making one cool video montage of your travels. And that’s what photographer Markus Kontiainen has done with his “Moments in Asia.”
Jason Wu rose to fame designing Michelle Obama’s inaugural gowns and NY Time’s In The Studio goes behind-the-scenes with Jason Wu at his office. Jason got into the fashion business by designing toy dolls.

The year is 2497, “Black Sand” is discovered on planet LV178 aka New Galveston and the Interstellar Commerce Commission (ICC) lead by Deputy Commissioner Alan Decker is on the scene. The ICC is a governmental organization that provides rules and regulations for corporations terraforming planets for humans to live. “Black Sand” aka Sea of Sorrows is a term used when a planet can’t be terraformed and somehow “Black Sand” has appeared on a build site.
I’m just hungry watching this clip in my cubicle. Here is the husband and wife team of Valentino and Alice and their Irish-mix-mash food truck in Woodland, New York. It’s all about late-night comfort food.
Just like sneakerheads who painstakingly collect kicks, photographer Eilon Paz side hobby is collecting vinyl records. Then he had a idea of globetrotting around the world to find vinyl collectors and to tell their story. Dust & Grooves is a coffee-table book that collects 416-pages of full frame photos, over 130 interviews with record collectors, 12 full interviews, and a foreward by RZA.
We caught a glimpse of this cool looking comic strip Carpe DIEm earlier this year with the Titan Comics/Atomeka anthology collection Monster Massacre Vol. 2. Now this collected edition offers 104 pages of action/adventure and off-beat humor. Carpe DIEm is a team of super agents named after each day of the week hoping to save the world from crazy evil villains.
Carpe DIEm is formed by the mysterious Sir 8th Day who is a little eccentric and clumsy and usually decisions are made by his butler Jude. Jude is like Rocket Raccoon from Guardians of the Galaxy, Jude was created in a test tube and now is an intelligent talking Koala bear. Sir Sunday is an ex-Triad gangsta and is the old and wise field general for the team. Like all super-agent teams, you gotta have a sniper, and that is teenager Lady Saturday. What team doesn’t have a ninja? Like G.I. Joe, Carpe DIEm has Sir Friday the ninja assassin who rarely speaks. And these guys even have a Doctor Strange like character, that is Sir Thursday, the Shaman sorcerer who combines Eastern and Western magic. Like all super teams, you gotta have a big fat guy, Sir Wednesday, he’s the muscle. And why not, let’s throw-in that loud obnoxious like American, Sir Tuesday.
Comic book creator Dave Elliot creates a new Alice in Wonderland universe and re-imagining of famous literary characters from the 19th century. Like ABC/Disney’s TV show Once Upon A Time, “The Weirding Willows” is where the worlds of Wonderland, Oz, Neverland, Olympus, Mars and Earth collide. This trade collects issues #1-6 of The Weirding Willows with bonus commentary and artwork.
When I lived in LA, you could not escape the sights and smells of churros and those amazing bacon wrapped hot dogs from the street vendors. These food items would hit the spot after the bars and clubs let it out or when you had that 1am in the morning food craving. And yes, I’m a fan of a good churro and it looks like I got to head to NYC for this tasty snack.
