Like the one in Brooklyn, New York, kicks-maker VANS will be opening a House of Vans in London on August 9th, 2014. Not only will there be an in-door skate park, but a venue for musicians and artists alike. So the next time you take the Tube in London, stop at Waterloo Station.

The G+ Virus gives humans superpowers! Writer Monty Nero and artist Mike Dowling deliver an off-beat mature-audience superhero book in “Death Sentence.” In this world, the G+ Virus is like the AIDS virus that has spread across the globe affecting the general population. The G+ Virus is transmitted through unprotected sex, but the virus gives humans superhuman powers. There is a catch though, once you get it, you will ONLY have 6 months to live. Now what will you do with 6 months on the planet? What kind of superhuman power(s) will you get? And what will you do with your superpowers?
Frankie’s Garage: Euro-Spec Fast Fords
On this side of the pond, usually what comes to mind when you think Ford racing cars? The American pony, the Ford Mustang. There is a different story in the UK and Europe, where they love smaller cars and rally performing hot hatches. XCar Films gives us a little 4-1-1 on two iconic Fast Fords, in the ’80s the Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and in the ’90s the Ford Escort Cosworth.
Dragons: Dragon Down
Dragons, like vampires, werewolves and zombies are all the rage in movies, TV shows, books, comics and video games these days. Besides the dragons in HBO’s Games of Thrones, Dreamworks animated How to Train Your Dragon (2010) is also very popular. I was pleasantly surprised how good the first one was and now I’m just excited for the sequel – How to Train Your Dragon 2 being released on June 13, 2014. Titan Comics will be releasing graphic novels of all-new adventures based on the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.

Very Naughty Boys by Robert Sellers
The 1980s decade of films were dominated by Hollywood blockbusters and sequels, but also during this time, from across the pond in Britain, a couple of films would make it’s way over, like the “Life of Brian”, “Time Bandits”, “Mona Lisa” and “The Missionary.” All these films was brought to film-goers by an unlikely friendship between a famous musician and Wall Street-type accountant/lawyer forming an independent film company. During the ten-year run, HandMade Films produced 23 films and made it’s own mark in British film history.

Their new drinking hangout is Deadbeat, a cozy jazz bar that Tom bought a few years back after retiring from the theatre business. Some novellas may want you drinking a nicely brew coffee or tea with biscuits, but for this Guy Adam’s pulp fiction novel, you may just want to grab some beer and chips and enjoy the rollicking adventure.

Fun with a Pencil by Andrew Loomis
Who doesn’t want to draw comics like Jack Kirby, Will Eisner and Jim Lee? Nobody starts off the gates drawing comics, cartoons and creating iconic characters without the basics. The A-B-C’s of drawing is what gets you from Point A to Point B. In our day of digital technology we can find art instruction on-line. I learned my cooking & cocktail recipes and Photoshop tutorials on YouTube. Sometimes, you need a little old school instruction and we’re going back to the early 20th century with commercial artist Andrew Loomis (1892-1959). Mr Loomis was well known for his various instructional art books and many of these books are not in print anymore. Fun with a Pencil was published back in 1939 and thanks to Titan Books, this instructional art book is in bookstore shelves.
