LEGO “Heavy Weapons”

nostarchpresslegoheavyweaponsDo you have any summer reading plans?  Might I suggest “LEGO Heavy Weapons” book from No Starch Press.  It’s 368 pages of instructions on how to build 4 life-size guns with shooting action, like loading clips and firing brick ammo – and all from LEGOs.  The book will show you how to piece together the Desert Eagle pistol, AKS-74U assault rifle, Jungle Carbine rifle, and SPAS shotgun.  This kid Jack Streat from the UK started when he was just 13 years-old building LEGO firearms.

Lego & Moleskine Collab

Everybody should backpack through Europe once in their lifetime.  Not only will you have an amazing adventure but you will also end up meeting different kinds of people from all walks of life.  Well, the hostels can be a hit or miss, but you can use Yelp to find the best hostels for your stay.  I have to say, besides the clubs, the food, the shops, the tourist spots, and the gazillion churches to visit, I also enjoyed just sitting at a café writing and drawing in my journal.  It was cool jotting ideas and other random thoughts arising from my head while watching the world around me.  Picture a cozy outdoor café in the South of France overlooking the sea while you are sipping on a cup of coffee.

Dr Seuss

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own.  And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

Drink: Happy *hiccup* Valentine’s Day!

What a wonderful gift! No no I’m not crying… I just have allergies.

Say your boyfriend/husband/random male lover got you nearly everything he was supposed to get you (dinner, chocolates, a new toaster – ok joking on this last one, I would NOT suggest giving kitchen appliances on V-Day unless you’re itching to go back to the single life). So what can you give back to the person who put so much effort to show you how much he loves ya?

Food from the “Hunger Games”

My cousin told me to read this trilogy last year by Suzanne Collins – “The Hunger Games.”  I can see why the young adults love this book – it has bits of:  sci-fi, action, anime, “Battle Royale”, a kdrama love triangle – so it’s a page turner.

Our heroine is Katniss Everdeen from District 12.  She not only has a world to save from nuclear destruction and a rebellion to lead, she also loves food.  She loves eating!  Actually when reading the first book, I actually want to go to the Hob in District 12 and get some gaming food dishes.  I can envision Travel Channel’s Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern along for ride and eating Greasy Sae’s yummy oily dishes.
